THE QUEEN'S CHAMBER

THE  OF

THE GREAT PYRAMI
D

(Point "F"; see diagram below)

Located at mid-point in the Great Pyramid, the Queen's Chamber symbolizes the heart of the temple and reflects its spiritual essence.  The word "pyramid"  literally means "fire in the middle" and refers to the fiery essence -- Divine Light --that is love.  The Great Pyramid, in turn, is a bio-map of human consciousness.  Entry into the Queen's Chamber is achieved via the Ascending Passageway ("Point E") or the Well-Shaft ("Point D" labeled the "Service Corridor" and sometimes referred to as the "Escape Shaft").   These two entries represent the "method and wisdom" to achieve enlightenment.

"Method" refers to the means or the way that enlightenment is achieved.  Since there are two entries, or ways, into the Queen's Chamber, the implication is that there are two methods or paths to achieve enlightenment.  The first "method" refers to a succession of lifetimes that provokes myriads of karmic experiences, both positive and negative, resulting in a gradual "elevation of consciousness" and expansion of the heart. This entry is accessed via the "Escape Shaft" and occurs when life's lessons are integrated and the heart expands in compassion for all sentient beings.  At this juncture, the incarnating soul may exit -- or "escape" -- the endless "Wheel of Suffering" and need not incarnate again.

The second "method" refers to an intentional path of spiritual discipline (such as yoga, meditation, qigong, and certain religious practices) that results in the negation of karma and perfection of the heart.  This is considered the more direct route and is symbolized by the "Ascending Passageway."

"Wisdom" refers to the union of 1) illumined mind and 2) expanded heart -- and is the end-result of either "method."  When two elements merge, union occurs.  Thus, this chamber is associated with the "marriage" of elements: wisdom and method, male and female, heaven and earth, and is a vehicle to invoke unification on all levels of being known in ancient times as the Mystic Marriage empowerment.  It is also associated with Isis, the Egyptian netert (archetypal principle) of  Divine Love.

The ancient Egyptians portrayed Isis in dual roles as both Queen and Mother.  The archetype "queen" symbolizes wisdom and the archetype "mother" symbolizes love.  When an enlightened master incarnates on Earth to reflect this particular archetype, these two symbols must be present.  For example, in our era, there is a strong implication that Mother Theresa may have fulfilled the Isis archetype as she is commonly referred to as "Mother."  Curiously, within a week of her death, "Princess" Diana also died.  For those who have "eyes who see", this was a strong omen to be deeply contemplated by the Vatican when determining whether to grant Mother Theresa the post-humus status of saint.

Also incorporated into the Queen's Chamber's architecture are elements associated with the feminine archetype.  For example, the niche could be viewed as the "womb" of the pyramid and the air shafts the "fallopian tubes."  (For more information on the scientific investigation of the air shafts, see the Upuaut Project.  The southern shaft is aligned with the star Sirius.  The ancient Egyptians associated this star with Isis.  The northern shaft is aligned to the circumpolar constellation Ursa Minor associated with Upuaut (a jackal- headed neter known as "the Opener of the Ways" and Horus, the falcon headed neter who is the son of Isis and Osiris).  Therefore, this chamber gives rise to the concept of birth especially in relation to "spiritual birth."  In some religions, formal purification rites are enacted on behalf of the spiritual disciple resulting in a renewal of the pure heart-mind.  The new mindset is referred to as "being born again."

Not surprisingly, the human heart was also viewed dualistically by the ancient Egyptians.  The Ab symbolized the higher consciousness (will and wisdom) of the heart and the Hati symbolized the lower consciousness (impulse and instinct) of the heart.  It was considered essential that these two aspects of the heart be unified through ceremonial process in the Queen's Chamber before the initiate proceeded  to the Hall of Truth for "judgment."  Subsequently, the initiate was anointed with perfumed unguents; and ceremonial offerings of manna (holy bread) and wine were placed on the altar in celebration of the sacred marriage feast!  Following the marriage celebration, the ritual ceremony of the "Opening of the Mouth" was performed in order to "rebirth" the initiate.

The Queen's Niche was originally 3 feet 5 inches deep and just over 16 feet high. (A passage was hacked through in the back for several yards by Colonel Vyse in 1832 C.E.).

Closure Stone Southern Air Shaft

The closure stone in the southern air shaft of the Queen's Chamber photographed by the robot UPUAUT. The drill holes contain a black tarry mass with evidence of copper or bronze fittings. White, round impressions have discolored both the stone and the fittings themselves evidently left by a gypsum-like material which has since broken off.
