11 Foot Pit in Subterranean Chamber

YOU ARE HERE:

SUBTERRANEAN CHAMBER
OF THE GREAT PYRAMID

(Point "C"; see diagram below)

Oh my, what a quandary!  Here's another fine mess you've gotten us into, Ollie!!  This chamber is rough and unfinished and if you're not very, very careful, you might just fall into the pit and perish!  Worse yet, seemingly, there's no way out.  The passage abruptly terminates in a dead-end and there's no turning back as the way you came in is blocked with a heavy granite plug that slid into place blocking the exit!

Well, since we're already here, Ollie, we might as well make the best of it and have a little look-see and a bit of fun ...

The Descending Passageway

The descending passageway to the subterranean chamber is 345 feet long. Upon entering the subterranean chamber, the passageway continues and ultimately terminates in a dead end. It is dark, narrow and not tall enough to stand upright.

The Pit with Modern Barrier

An 11 foot deep pit against the east wall of the chamber surrounded by a barrier erected in modern times.

The West Wall

More West Wall

The rough and unfinished nature of the chamber is evidenced in this view to the west.

Dead End Passageway

Behind the railing on the south wall is a dead-end passageway covered with modern grated bars.

What in the world is the meaning of this strange chamber?  Is it really the unfinished tomb of Pharaoh Khufu?  If so, why did its builders suddenly stop before completing it?  And why, unlike all the other burial chambers in which mummies have been found, is it devoid of ornamentation and the mystical hieroglyphic texts that assist the deceased into the afterlife?  Why, because it is not a tomb!  The Great Pyramid is a structure that contains within it the blueprint of LifeIt's very architecture reflects the various potentials of life from "inception" to infinity.  Entry point into the Book of Life begins here in this subterranean quagmire.

Take another look at the map above.  Notice that access into the Great Pyramid is through the Descending Passageway ("Point B"), a long and dark narrow corridor.  This symbolizes the soul as it "descends" from the heavens and incarnates on Earth.  The individuated soul (called the Ka by the ancient Egyptians and hieroglyphically represented by a pair of arms upraised to the heavens) descends from spirit, inhabits the mother's womb for approximately 9 months, and subsequently enters into the physical world via the birth canal.

The Subterranean Chamber ("Point C") symbolizes the "unfinished" nature of humankind during evolutionary development in the physical world similar to the growth phase of a child to adult.  The individuated soul incarnates into myriads of life times and deaths, joys and sufferings, disappointments and achievements, afflictions and lessons learned (known as the "Wheel of Karma") and is "trapped" in this realm until liberation.  Sometimes, rather than spiritually evolving, the incarnating soul de-evolves.  By choosing a decadent lifestyle or inflicting harm on self or others, the individual incurs untold self suffering that is the result of negative karma ("As you do unto others so shall it be done unto you").  These unfortunate beings become self-mired in the fiery realm of hell represented by the 11 foot pit (see photograph above).  The number 11 numerologically symbolizes "duality" or the realm of karma (both positive and negative karma).

Fortunately, for all beings, there is a way "out" of the chaos and pain of life in a purely material world. Similarly, there is a way out of the Subterranean Chamber and even the fiery Pit that is part and parcel of the Subterranean Chamber.  It is not through what would appear to be the logical means, the Ascending Passageway ("Point E"); we can't even get there from here as that pesky granite plug is blocking our way.  And even if we could get to the entrance of the Ascending Passageway, it, too, is blocked with a big limestone plug.  Nevertheless, there is a slow way and a fast way out.  In both instances, the vehicle of exit is the Well-Shaft ("Point D" labeled the "Service Corridor" and sometimes referred to as the "Escape Shaft").

In the slow model, the individuated soul incarnates over and over, spiritually evolving through many eons of time until eventually attaining enlightenment.  This is symbolized by the "watery" nature of the Well-Shaft and the evolution of life out of the sea (water).  In the fast model, the individuated soul "ascends" by  focusing on Love.  Neither of these pathways, either the slow or fast models, can be attained by flesh and blood means; "ascension" up into the Well-Shaft and the Ascending Passageway that leads to the Queen's Chamber must be effected through conscious awareness.  The Well-Shaft itself is virtually inaccessible from the lower levels of the pyramid.  Similarly, "ascension" (as exemplified by Osiris, the Egyptian god of Resurrection and Jesus Christ in the Christian religion, is a potentiality for all human beings and only effected through right awareness.

So why would we want to come here to this strange place, anyway???

I can't answer that question relative to your own personal life on physical Earth; only you can answer that question.  But I can tell you why we, as Keyholders, would want to visit the Subterranean Chamber.  First of all, it's a very precious opportunity.  This chamber is closed to the general public and only accessible by special permit.  We're very fortunate to have the proper permit to experience it privately as a group.  My good friend and mentor Dr. Marcel Vogel  likened it to a laboratory, a place where creative ideas may be materialized into actuality.  Secondly, as all sentient beings must ultimately be liberated before the world can sustain everlasting peace, the pit must be infused with Love in order to transform our own negative karmas into a unified, cohesive harmonic of Love.  Out of the fiery pit  the phoenix arises from the ashes.  In ancient Egypt, the phoenix was symbolized by the Ben-Ben, a tall pyramidal topped obelisk.

Well ... (pun intended), what do you say?  Are you ready to leave this joint?  Then click on the image of the solar heart below!

This image is a replica of the breast-plate worn by Pharaoh Tutankhamon.  The scarab beetle was associated with Ra, the sun, and considered a protective amulet.  Why was the scarab associated with the sun?  Read my book "The Egyptian Book of Life" to find out the answer.
