TEMPLE OF KHUMN (INTERIOR)
A fantasmical creature, part bird and frog with human hands, in a basket amidst lotus flowers and thrush. Baskets had various meanings to the ancient Egyptians including "master" and "all." Thus, this creature in a basket symbolizes the diversity and evolotion of all life forms out of the primorial waters molded by the Great Artificer, Khumn. Photo courtesy of Jack Dodge. |
